4 Ways to upcycle your kombucha bottles
So you don’t want to just recycle those cute amber glass bottles but you’re not sure what to do with them?
Here’s four easy ways to upcycle your Two Boys Brew Kombucha bottles.
1. Propagate plant cuttings
2. Make a wildflower vase
3. Use it as your desk water bottle
4. Create a candle holder
Preparation
Prep your bottles by peeling off the label and giving them a polish with your favourite natural glass cleaner.
Propagation
Plants like pothos are great for taking cuttings. Snip them just below the little node and pop it into the water. The node is the natural place for the roots to grow and soon enough you’ll see it start sprouting out.
Wildflower Vase
Go for a walk around your local neighbourhood and see what wildflowers you can find. Remember to ask first if they are hanging out of someone’s garden…or walk really fast.
Fancy desk bottle
Plastic water bottles are designed for single use only and can become carcinogenic if reused multiple times, especially if they are kept in the sun. Swap out the cheap plastic for a beautiful amber glass bottle, add a silicone straw and you are good to go!
Candle holder
Find a nice candle and pop it in the top of the bottle - easy! If the mouth of the bottle is a little small for your candle, gently melt the base of the candle before placing it in the bottle. As the wax hardens the candle will hold in place.
